Cecily Sam Legg, RN, LMT
Registered Nurse, Licensed Massage Therapist, Psychosynthesis CoachSam’s Gentle Hands Somatic Coaching and Bodywork
Greenfield and Hadley Massachusetts

Somatic coaching uses the wisdom of the body to help people make real and lasting changes. Relationships, Health, Trauma recovery, Wanting to be more present in my life, Transitions, Call of Self--- These are some areas where I have helped people grow. Using a combination of dialogue, movement and touch, I guide the client to come gently into comfortable relationship with the felt sense of the body and what it’s trying to tell us.
Sessions take place by phone, or in person sitting and moving about, or tucked (fully clothed) into a cozy massage table. I also offer simple massage and Reiki, because sometimes it’s wonderful to just restore the feeling of feeling good!
This is a whole-person, whole-brain approach, all parts welcome! Along with the thinking-talking-planning neocortex, we will also use the subcortical brain with its sensing, feeling, memory patterns, and the autonomic nervous system with its natural cycles of activation and rest. It’s appropriate for all ages and especially great for parents and kids together.
Testimonials:
- My body is helping me be more authentic in the world, and I love it!
- The biggest change I've noticed is my deep anxiety and fear about the future is gone - and that I'm much more confident in using my body as a decision-making partner.
- Sam is a jewel, and I am so grateful to have found her! Her approach is gentle, crafted for a person's unique circumstance, and playful.

Creator of Video Mirror Feedback®
A happy marriage of Psychosynthesis and videography that boosts self-awareness and acceptance,
e mpathic presence, and confidence for all the relationships that matter, including couples,
singles, collaborators, and job-seekers
A passion for powerful questions led me to a career as a documentary interviewer and videographer. After over 20 years as a documentarian, I discovered that the most tangible impact of my filmmaking was not social change (as I’d hoped!) but greater awareness in my interviewees of two key ingredients of a rewarding life:
– the choices they didn't know they had
– their ability to make these choices
When I realized that this greater awareness was also the result of good coaching and counseling, I found my true calling – and the Synthesis Center. I enrolled in 2002, first as a counselor and then as a coach.
As a documentarian, I’d occasionally caught myself on video. That’s how I found out how much I could learn from seeing (and hearing) myself. It was one thing to know intellectually that tone of voice conveys more of our meaning than anything else, but it was quite an eye-opener to discover this truth from my own tone of voice. The impromptu video feedback, in tandem with my practice of Psychosynthesis, has resulted in lasting improvement in my personal and professional relationships.
My "aha moments" from video feedback gave birth to a method I call Video Mirror Feedback®. Clients use it to become aware of communication choices they don’t know they’re making and the parts of themselves that are making them. They quickly boost their confidence and their ability to be present to their choices, to loved ones, job interviews, and all the conversations that matter. I take care to make it a surprisingly gentle journey, full of empathy and unconditional positive regard every step of the way
Whether you’re in western Mass or anywhere in the world, the most comfortable and effective way to experience Video Mirror Feedback® is on Skype. Call me for a free 30-minute discovery session. Tel 413-522-0789
